Drive-By Sandwich Social on Sunday

On March 7, our Sunday School class is getting together with Carter & Phil’s class for a traditional Drive-By Sandwich Social after church. The fun is happening at Carter and Merideth’s house.

If  you’ve never been to a Drive-By Sandwich Social, you are in for a treat.  After church Sunday morning, head to Carter’s house (we’ll have directions in Sunday School), and make sure you bring your own lunch because food will not be provided.  Usually, we simply eat and hang out at these things, but this week we have an  added bonus.  Carter & some other folks are going to share pictures and stories from recent mission trips to Honduras.

Mark your calendar now for Sunday, March 7 for a great opportunity to enjoy fellowship, and to learn about what our church is doing in Honduras.

We will be getting together with the youngest of the young adult Sunday School classes at Carter and Merideth’s house after church. Bring your own lunch, and come ready to hear stories and see pictures from the mission trips to Honduras.

Ladies Lunch “E” – Dinner Edition

This month, our class’s Ladies Lunch is actually a dinner.  That way, even the working ladies can take part.

In honor of the letter “E,” the action is going down at El Meson in Hixson.  Dinner is at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 26.

Ladies Lunch “D”

This Thursday, January 14, there will be a Ladies Lunch at noon.  This is the fourth stop as the ladies eat their way through the alphabet, so the restaurant will start with the letter “D”.  If you have any “D” suggestions, let Sarah know as soon as possible.

Class Christmas Party

For 12 months, you’ve been counting down the days until our Sunday School class Christmas Party, and the wait is almost over.

The party is Friday, December 18 at 6:00 pm at Skip & Kelley’s house.

We’re having a Mexican theme, so wear your best Christmas Sombrero.  Seriously, wear a sombrero, because there will be a prize for the best one.  We will pass a list around in class to sign up for what dish you want to bring, since the party is an El Poto Lucko. (I obviously don’t know much Spanish).

Of course, it wouldn’t be the same without a white elephant gift exchange! So, every couple be creative and and bring a gift!  Re-gifting is highly recommended.

Girls’ Pottery Fun

From Sarah…

Nov. 7th at 12 noon we will meet up at River City Pottery in East Brainerd for a fun filled pottery day! This is our chance to make those Christmas presents and yearly tradtional items (such as ornaments). We will see how the day goes and if anyone wants to eat afterwards (or during) we may do that!

For those of you who have never come to pottery day….You choose unpainted pottery of all sorts and paint it with whatever colors, and fellowship while painting, then in a week you can go back and pick up your pottery. Prices are fairly reasonable and can go as low as $10. So you can create something for yourself or for a gift. You will love it!

If possible, email me back with whether or not you think you can come, Thanks!

August Ladies Lunch

It is time again for the the height of girliness.  That’s right, Ladies Lunch. Here are the details from Sarah.

Hey girls aren’t we ready for a ladies lunch?!  We are going to do something different with the lunches/dinners and “Eat our way through Chattanooga A-Z” ! I thought this would be a fun way to eat somewhere different and try to stay on top of lunches/dinners and do it once a month. So this Friday, the 28th, we are starting at Applebees at 12:30! And Sept 10th @ 6 pm we will have a dinner so those who work during the day can come. Be thinking of great “B” places for Sept 10th!

For those of you who have never came to a lunch, its a great time to visit and encourage one another during our crazy weeks of working and taking care of kids. Your kiddos are always welcome and there will be plenty of them to go around if you don’t have one!
If you think you are coming, email me so we can have a general #, but if you have no clue or want to come at last minute please do, and don’t worry about a reply!

Hope to see you Friday,
Sarah

By my calculations, July 2010 is the “K” month, so make your plans now, because you don’t want to miss the Ladies Lunch at Krystal.
